Your TL Homecare is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to adults living in their own homes, to support them to live as independently as possible. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects services where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. At the time of this assessment, 43 people were receiving support with personal care. The service supports adults with a wide range of needs, including people living with dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health needs,

Overall, people experienced safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led care. Since the last inspection in November 2022, the provider had strengthened governance and quality assurance processes to improve oversight, learning and service quality.Systems were in place to assess, monitor and review care, risks and performance. Staff worked closely with people, relatives and professionals to provide personalised care and respond to changing needs.

People told us they felt safe, listened to and involved in decisions about their care.

There was a positive culture of learning and improvement, with feedback, audits and reviews used to support the ongoing development of the service. Governance arrangements continued to develop, and the provider demonstrated a commitment to further strengthening quality assurance processes.

 

 

 

 


 

People's experience of the service

Feedback received about the service was positive. People and relatives said they felt safe, cared for, and trusted the staff. They said support was provided by a regular team of care staff which helped establish relationships and familiarity. Comments received included, “I definitely feel that (family member) is safe with them and we both trust them.” And “They do try to keep the majority of the same carers and the same times.”

Care staff were described as kind and considerate and treated people with respect. People told us staff supported them in a way that promoted choice and independence. One person told us, “They encourage (family member) to do small things themselves.” Another person said, “They support and supervise rather than take over.”

People told us staff took time to get to know them and their families. They described positive and caring relationships with staff, who provided reassurance and support in ways that reflected people's individual needs, preferences and backgrounds. One relative said, “They have learnt key phrases of (family member) first language and use these to provide reassurance when providing care and support.”

People told us care was personalised and delivered in line with their individual preferences and needs. They described a flexible approach that focused on what mattered to them. Feedback showed people felt involved in their care and valued the support they received. Comments received included, “They do their best to make sure you get the best care possible.” And “They tailor things around us.”

People and their relatives told us the staff were swift to escalate any concerns to relevant health professionals and teams. One person told us, “They noticed (family members) skin was becoming sore and contacted the GP to get treatment organised.”

People spoke positively about the service and expressed confidence in the staff and leadership team. Feedback showed people felt well supported and valued the positive culture within the service. People and relatives told us they could raise concerns or seek support when needed and felt confident these would be acted on. Comments received included, “They are like chalk and cheese compared to other agencies. We are very pleased with them.” And “There is a really positive atmosphere amongst the staff and within the service. I can contact the registered manager at any time and know they will step up and do everything they can to help us."
