Equity in experiences and outcomes
The provider had actively considered the needs of people who were most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes. They told us a core ethos of the organisation was to deliver an inclusive care service which met the specific cultural needs of the local community. They understood the challenges and needs of people and their communities and delivered care which removed potential barriers to inclusion and positive experiences.
People described how the diversity and experience of the staff team led to improved outcomes for their relative. One person told us, “I do feel they are aware of cultural needs and they know our culture as a family and they know what my relative likes and what the family wants from them. They will speak some English and they also speak some Punjabi. They treat us with respect.” Another relative told us, “I have no concerns that we are being discriminated against. They send carers who speak Gujarati and Urdu which helps my relative and me. They also understand about the sort of food that my relative may want. They are very kind.”
