All Inspections

5, 8 October 2012

During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection the service was providing care and support to thirteen people in homes for supported living.

We spoke with six people using the service, one relative and four members of staff which included the acting manager. We also looked at three sets of care records.

People were happy with the standard of care that they were receiving. One person commented " I like the staff, they are very nice and help me". Another person that we spoke with told us " Staff listen to me, I can speak with any staff if I was worried".

People told us that they were afforded dignity and respect and independence was promoted.

Care plans and risk assessment were in place to support people's needs. People had choices available to them and care was person centred.

Safeguarding procedures were in place and staff were confident that they would recognise and report any allegations of abuse.

Staff were supported, supervised and trained to provide safe and effective care.

Systems were in place for the ongoing monitoring of the quality of service provided to ensure that standards were maintained.
