Date of assessment: 16 September 2026 to 22 September 2026. We carried out this comprehensive assessment to provide an updated view of the quality of care being delivered and ensure the service's rating continued to accurately reflect how well people's needs were being met. The service is a care home providing accommodation, nursing, and personal care for up to 42 people over the age of 65. The service provides palliative and respite care. There were 33 people living at the service at the time of our assessment.

People received safe, effective, and person-centred care from staff who knew them well and understood their individual needs. Risks in terms of people's health, safety and wellbeing were assessed, monitored, and reviewed, enabling people to remain safe while maintaining as much independence, choice, and control as possible. People were protected from avoidable harm, received their medicines safely and were supported by enough suitably skilled and competent staff.

People's needs were assessed and reviewed regularly, and staff worked effectively with healthcare professionals to support positive outcomes. Staff treated people with kindness, dignity and respect and involved them in decisions about their care and support. People and their relatives were consistently positive about the quality of care provided and told us they felt safe, well supported, and listened to.

The service was well-led. The provider promoted an open and positive culture and maintained oversight through a range of audits, checks, and governance systems. Learning from incidents, feedback and quality monitoring was used to drive improvements and support positive outcomes for people. Staff spoke positively about the support they received and told us they felt confident raising concerns if needed.

Throughout the assessment, the provider was responsive to feedback and acted promptly where opportunities for further improvement were identified. This included enhancements to environmental oversight and medicines governance processes, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
