Comments from service users included "they are very good to me and take time to ensure that all my needs are catered for "and" They couldn't be kinder to me and the food is very good."

Each person we spoke with told us that carers from the agency were polite and respectful. One person stated, 'They always treat me with respect, they 'phone if they might be a bit late.'

We spoke to four people who receive care form twelve trees homecare. Comments included "the care is excellent" and "the staff are well trained and well disciplined.". Another person told us that nothing was too much trouble for the staff and that they took time to make them feel comfortable and safe.

The four members of staff told us that they had undergone safeguarding training and we saw evidence of this when we looked at their staff files. We also looked at a training matrix, held centrally, that outlined when training had taken place and the dates of future safeguarding training.

All the staff we spoke to told us that they had received a comprehensive induction programme when they started their job. During our conversations, the staff demonstrated that they were provided with appropriate training to enable them to carry out their roles and maintain their skills. This consisted of a number of mandatory training courses. These included, fire, health and safety, medication and safeguarding.

We saw that a comprehensive quality assurance audit system was in place detailing a range of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly checks and audits required. The system incorporated key aspects of the service such as care plan reviews, training, risk assessments, car checks, and complaints.
