Updated 9 December 2025

Date of assessment 20 January to 3 February 2026. Meadowcroft Health Care Limited is a residential care home providing support to people of all ages living with nursing needs and mental health conditions and/or physical disabilities. At the time of our assessment, 22 people were living at the service. The assessment was carried out due to the age of the providers previous rating.

People received safe, effective, and responsive care at Meadowcroft Health Care Limited. The service had a strong management structure, with experienced and knowledgeable leaders. There were enough staff with the right skills and experience to meet people’s needs safely and effectively. Staff worked collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to ensure people received coordinated care, promoting positive outcomes. Staff at all levels knew people well and understood their care and support needs. People received person-centred care and were treated as individuals, with kindness, dignity, and respect. Where there were delays in accessing NHS health professionals the provider provided internal health care such as an occupational therapist to ensure people received timely assessments. There was a clear progression strategy in place to support people to learn to live independent in the community. People had choice and control over their care and support. Risks to people’s health were assessed, and staff worked in line with best practice to mitigate them. Systems and processes were in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service. The provider and registered manager completed regular checks and audits to identify where improvements were required.

People's experience of the service

Updated 9 December 2025

Our assessment found people experienced good quality care by a knowledgeable and experienced staff team. People were able to provide us with feedback of their experience, they told us they felt safe, one person said, “It’s the staff who make it feel safe.” Another person told us, “I’m very safe and nothing can go wrong as everything is checked, even the electric box has been replaced.” People told us there was enough staff to support them, one person said, “There’s plenty of staff and people get to go out for walks.” People were supported to become more independent. One person told us, “I’ve been self-medicating for about 1 year now, my tablets come in little boxes, and I put it into my medication box, and it gets topped up. I fetch my medication from the pharmacy every month.” People told us the home was clean, “They keep everywhere really clean and my clothes come back quickly from washing.” People told us there was enough to eat and drink and their dietary requirements were met. One person told us, “I’m diabetic and gluten free too, so it’s up to me if I want something different from the menu. They’ll do me special meals, but it tends to be the same types of meals a lot of the time.” A manager told us that, following negative feedback about catering, plans were in place to move to an in-house service to give people more choice and control.
