During a routine inspection

People using the service were very positive about the home and were happy living there. Some of their comments included: 'I get good support from the staff, they treat me well, support me with my medication and respect the choices that I make' and 'I did a literacy course in college last year, and started voluntary work in a charity shop this year. I gave that up because I feel too old now and want to take life easy and the staff have been great in supporting me with the choices I have made'. Other comments included; 'Staff always explain things to me,' 'Staff treat me with respect,' 'The home is very good' and 'I get to choose the food I eat, activities, holidays and I am very happy with the home overall'.

We spoke with two professionals from different mental health teams and they were both positive about the care and support that their clients were getting at Endsleigh House. They both told us that their clients were improving and doing well in the home. We saw comments made by a relative in a survey carried out in September 2011, which stated, 'Staff are always welcoming and have time to discuss everything. I am very happy with the service'. We spoke with staff about the service and they told us that people using the service get a safe and good standard of care at Endsleigh House. They told us that they were supported to make choices, consulted and encouraged to develop their skills and interests at the home.
