Date of Assessment: 7 July 2025. The service is a residential care home providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic spectrum disorder. At the time of our assessment there were 8 people using the service.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Any improvements we identified during our assessment were acknowledged and, in the process, to be actioned by the management team to ensure good care provision. People were supported to discuss the goals that they wanted to achieve. The identified risks to people's safety were now properly assessed providing clear instructions for staff to follow. Processes in relation to DBS checks and mental capacity assessments were reviewed to ensure safe and effective care delivery for people.
Staff felt supported in their role and knew the actions they had to take to keep people safefromavoidableharm. Staffing levels were meeting the needs of people being supported. People were involved in planning their care and understood options around choosing to withdraw or not receive care. Staff were kind and compassionate and treated people as individuals. People’s communication needs were identified and supported to ensure their involvement in conversations.
