Updated 24 October 2024
We had previously undertaken an on-site inspection on 9 October 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions.
We found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of Regulations 12, 17 and 18 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
We undertook a follow up focused inspection on 2 April 2025.
This inspection was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place.
The practice had systems to manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice is in Reading and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice is based on the first and second floor of a shared building. Patients were advised of this when they contacted the practice.
The practice had 5 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentists, a dental nurse and the practice manager.
