During a routine inspection

Didsbury Court was last visited by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on 05 May 2010.

At the time of our inspection there was no registered manager employed at Didsbury Court. The organisation had informed us that the previous manager had left. However, the previous manager had not deregistered with CQC at the time of the inspection, therefore their name still remains on the report.

We had received an anonymous concern relating to the care received by some people at the home. We found no evidence to support the concerns.

People who lived at the home that we spoke with all told us that they were supported to make their own decisions and were able to make choices about how they spent their day. People also told us that regular meetings were held when they were able to discuss any issues they had.

Our observations showed that staff interacted well with the people in the home. They spoke to people in a respectful manner, using their preferred names, and responded to people's requests and listened to what they had to say.

We saw that medications were stored securely. Staff told us and records confirmed that only staff who had been appropriately trained were able to administer medication.

Staff and people living at the home told us that they felt there were enough staff on duty. One person living at the home told us that they never had to wait long for staff to arrive if they had rung their call bell for assistance.
