During a routine inspection
People told us they liked to live at Clovelly House and that the staff were kind and helpful. Comments made included 'it is excellent here, the food is good and my room is lovely', 'the staff are very kind and helpful' and 'I have no complaints at all, but if I did I would be able to speak with the staff and they would sort anything out for me'.
The visitors we spoke with were either visiting relatives or friends. They were satisfied with the care provided by the staff and each said their friend or relative was happy at the home.
People told us someone came to the home each week to provide a keep fit class. Other than that people were not able to tell us about activities that took place. One person commented 'it is very quiet here, not much happens' and another person said 'sometimes it can be a bit boring at times as there is not much to do'. This person added they were satisfied with everything else at Clovelly House.
We observed the home was clean, tidy and free from odours. People lived in a warm and comfortable home and appeared well looked after with clean and pressed clothes.
We found the systems in place regarding the administration and storage of medication did not fully protect people from the risks associated with medication.
