Date of assessment: 24 March until 26 March 2026
Victoria Court Private Rest Home is a care home registered to provide personal care to up to 29 older people, some of whom maybe living with dementia. The service does not provide nursing care. There were 28 people living at the service at the time of assessment. The accommodation for people was over 2 floors with access to a large garden and easy access to the local community.
This is the first inspection since a new provider has taken over the service.
Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way which was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. There were enough staff who had received appropriate training to meet people’s needs. People were cared for by staff who had been recruited and employed after appropriate checks had been completed. Staff worked well with health care professionals to support people’s physical well-being. People were supported to take their medicines by staff who had the correct skills to support them.
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
People told us they were supported as individuals by staff who were caring and responsive to their needs. Dietary and hydration needs were met and people told us they enjoyed the food at the service.
The registered manager had quality assurance systems in place to provide good oversight and governance at the service.
