During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment 19 June 2025 to 24 July 2025. This inspection was prompted due to concerns received about modern-day slavery. As a result, we undertook an inspection looking at 5 quality statements under the safe and well-led key questions.
An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group. There were systems to ensure people were safeguarded from abuse and staff understood how to safeguard people. The service followed the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture guidance, such as by empowering people to understand their rights, providing an appropriate level of staff training, and ensuring community inclusion.
Staff were recruited safely and had completed a wide range of training relevant to their role. During the inspection we could not find evidence of modern-day slavery. Staff felt able to raise any concerns and felt they would be listened to. There were processes to support staff speaking up, including anonymous reporting. Staff felt supported in their role, and there was evidence of management supporting staff, such as driving staff to care visits. Staff were clear about their roles and responsibilities. However, we found policies did not always contain up to date information. Additionally, during the inspection, documents were not always readily available once requested.
