Date of assessment: 28 July 2026. This service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to adults, some of whom may live with physical disabilities. This was the first assessment for this service.Systems and processes were in place to support the delivery of safe, person-centred care.

Risks were appropriately assessed and managed in a way that promoted safety while maintaining independence. Staff had received relevant training and demonstrated a good understanding of people’s needs. People’s prescribed medicines had been managed and administered safely as prescribed. Referrals to health care professionals had been made when staff reported changes in people’s needs. People’s preferences were understood by staff, and they received person-centred care which took account of their individual needs and preferences. Staff were responsive to changing needs.

Staff were supported and trained to carry out their role. They received regular supervision and personalised support to enable them to fulfil their roles and responsibilities. People received care and support from a consistent team of staff who knew them well and provided personalised care.

Staff understood the importance of supporting people to make their own choices about everyday matters, such as what they wanted to eat, drink or wear, in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005. People were treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and staff took steps to protect their privacy. Staff also understood people's different communication needs.There were enough trained staff to meet people's needs, and most care call visits were provided on time. Staff followed good infection prevention and control practices.

Effective systems were in place to report and investigate incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints. Actions were taken and lessons learnt were shared with staff to help prevent further occurrences.The provider worked effectively with health and social care professionals to support continuity of care. Governance arrangements, including audits and quality monitoring processes, provided effective oversight of the service and supported continuous improvement.The registered manager was knowledgeable about the service and demonstrated they had a good understanding of their legal requirements and needs of the people who were supported by the service.

People's experience of the service

People who used the service and their relatives were positive about the service. People reported they were supported by caring, regular staff who understood their needs and wishes. They felt comfortable and safe with staff who supported them.One person told us, “I feel so comfortable. I have trust in them.” Relatives also told us staff understood people's individual needs and adapted their support accordingly.

People and their relatives said communication from the service was good and they felt the managers were approachable and capable leaders.

Overall, people’s experiences reflected a service where they felt safe, listened to and treated with dignity and respect. They described care that supported their independence while providing reassurance that help was available when needed. This demonstrated a positive and consistent experience of care, aligned with a service that was delivering good outcomes for people.
