During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: Site visit 24 March 2026. Feedback gathering concluded as of Friday 3 April 2026.
Ardour Healthcare Services Ltd is a domiciliary care agency providing care to 26 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care in their own homes in and around Nottingham. The service supports both adults and children who require assistance with daily living, including people living with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, mental health conditions and dementia.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Right Support:
People were encouraged to lead their lives in their chosen way and supported to access meaningful activities in their home and local community and develop their skills. Staff involved people indecisions and planning any changes to their care.
Independence was encouraged and supported. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. Call time data collected through the digital care recording system evidenced care calls were provided on time and offered continuity of care by providing regular staff to people receiving support whenever possible.
Right Care:
People were treated with kindness and compassion and received dignified care that respected their privacy and human rights. Care and support was person centred. Individualised care and support plans were in place that enabled staff to provide person centred and safe care for each person. People’s preferred communication styles were known and respected.
Safeguarding incidents were managed in a timely and effective manner, ensuring all relevant person’s and authorities were made aware. Documentation created a clear audit trail of actions taken, any learning and how this was shared. Care planning and risk assessments evidenced the corresponding updates to reduce risk of future reoccurrences. People were protected from the risk of harm or abuse through effective safeguarding and emergency contingency planning measures.
Right Culture:
The practice, values and attitude of leaders and care staff ensured people supported by the Ardour Healthcare Services Ltd team led confident and inclusive lives. Staff and managers had shared values which were based on supporting people to live an ordinary life as any other citizen with the same rights and opportunities.
Our inspection found the service safely and effectively met the needs of people using the service.
The leadership, and feedback we gathered about them, evidenced a culture that fostered respect and transparency. We were assured people using the service and relatives felt they could approach leaders and have their concerns actioned. People using the service assured us that the wider staff team were accessible, compassionate and approachable.
