Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive a regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of the inspection, there were 2 people using the service with 1 person receiving personal care.
This was the first inspection for this service. We have assessed the service against all the quality statements in the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The service supports people with a learning disability and autism. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autism respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
The service had a mission statement to provided person centred care tailored to the individual.
The registered manager ensured people were assessed prior to admission to confirm their needs could be met and they were compatible with other people living at the service. There was a small staff team who all knew people well. There were enough staff at the service to meet people’s needs and all staff had received relevant training.
The service had a positive safety culture; however, there were some improvements needed to the environment. The service learned from incidents and strived to continue to make improvements to the service.
