The purpose of this assessment was to check if the provider had met the requirements of the warning notice previously served in relation to person centred care, safe care and treatment and good governance. This assessment was unannounced which means the provider was not told an assessment was going to be starting beforehand. At the last assessment, the provider was in breach of legal regulations in relation to, person centred care, safe care and treatment and good governance. We found the provider had made improvements and were no longer in breach of regulations.
There were improvements to the governance process or system in place. However, risks were not always assessed. We found skin damage care plans were not always reflective of people’s care and support needs. Staffing levels were sufficient to meets people’s care and support needs. People received their food and drink in a timely manner and staff ensured people had consumed enough food and drink. Staff followed their training when supporting people with moving and handling. The provider now had a process in place for reviewing and reporting safeguarding incidents to the local authority safeguarding team as required. Processes were in place when incidents had occurred to review what had happened and prevent or reduce re-occurrence. Lessons were learned from safety incidents or complaints. People received person centred care.
