Updated 23 March 2021

Park House Nursing Home is a residential nursing home situated in the Queensbury area of Bradford. The home provides accommodation, personal care and nursing care for up to 25 older people and people living with dementia. There were several spacious communal areas and a large private garden. At the time of our inspection there were 15 people living at the home.

We found the following examples of good practice.

The home was clean and well ventilated. Cleaning schedules had been changed to ensure increased cleaning of high touch points. Social distancing was promoted in the home and we observed changes to the environment to support this.

The home had developed a safe and welcoming visiting ‘pod’. Relatives were able to access this area without coming into communal areas. The registered manager was reviewing the home's visiting policy considering recently updated government guidance.

We observed staff wearing the appropriate levels of PPE. Staff were provided with individual lockers and changed into their uniform when they arrived on shift.

The provider had appropriate arrangements for vaccinating and testing people and staff for COVID-19.

The registered manager was working closely with the local authority infection control team and Public Health England to ensure they were following up to date government guidance.
