Date of assessment: 16 June 2026. Dr Jude's Practice – Riverside and Picton is a GP practice providing primary medical services to approximately 9373 patients under a contract with NHS England. Services are delivered from the main site at Riverside Centre for Health, Park Street, Liverpool L8 6QP, and a branch site at Picton Neighbourhood Health Centre, 137 Earle Road, Liverpool L7 6HD.
Based on the most recent available data, the practice population comprises approximately 67.5% White, 9% Asian, 6% Mixed, 8.7% Black and 8.8% from other ethnic groups. Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities indicates that the practice serves a population within the most deprived decile nationally (decile 1 of 10), with lower deciles representing higher levels of deprivation. As part of this assessment, we considered the characteristics of the population served, the environment in which the practice operates, and how these factors influenced the delivery of care. Further detail is included within the relevant quality statements where appropriate.
This was an announced focused inspection undertaken to review and re-rate the Effective, Caring and Well-led key questions. The practice had implemented systems to improve uptake of national screening programmes. Although performance had improved, screening rates remained below national targets, reflecting the challenges associated with the practice population. Complaints were being managed appropriately, and leaders demonstrated a clear understanding of the issues affecting the service, with actions monitored through established governance processes. Patients’ voices were heard through inhouse surveys and the practice acted on that information to make change. Further detail is provided within the relevant quality statements.
