Caring
Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
At our last assessment we rated this key question Good. At this assessment the rating has remained Good.
This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
The provider always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
For example, we observed people were spoken to with respect, kindness and interacted with positively. A person told us, “I am happy, and I like going shopping.” We observed people being supported in a way which was compassionate and personalised, considered their own personal experiences and their past. When people had visitors, they were enabled to spend time outside of their bedrooms with their visitors, there were private spaces at the service and gardens which people could utilise. Staff appeared to know people well. We observed several positive interactions between people and staff. One relative told us, “Staff adore [relative], especially the managers.
