Our view of the service

We carried out this inspection from 19 November 2025 to 20 November 2025. The service is a supported living service providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. There were 12 people living in the service at the time of our inspection, but only 7 who received the regulated activity of personal care. We inspected 24 quality statements. We inspected the service to follow up concerns raised by partner organisations.

The provider was highly motivated to maintain a high level of care to people. People were protected and kept safe. Staff were recruited safely and received appropriate training and supervision. Staff were trained to raise and respond to safeguarding concerns both internally and to external agencies. Medicines were stored, documented, and administered safely. People were supported by staff who treated them with kindness and respected their dignity. There was a system in place for responding to concerns or complaints. A dedicated management team led the service. Staff were able to raise concerns and told us managers were approachable and supportive. However, we found people’s health conditions and associated risks were not consistently assessed and not always managed in line with best practices. People’s needs were assessed but not consistently reviewed. Staff did not always ensure people’s care and support met individual needs and preferences.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities which most people take for granted. We found people did not consistently receive care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance. At the time of the inspection, the new manager had not yet submitted their registration with CQC.

People's experience of this service

We spoke with 4 relatives and used observation to assess whether people received good care. We found people could benefit from being involved in more meaningful activities both inside and outside of the service. However, the provider shared with us they had put new measures in place to improve this situation, which included meetings with people to discuss what activities they would like to undertake and improve the activity planners for people.

Relatives we spoke with told us of recent improvements to the service following the new manager starting. One relative told us, “This is tailor-made for [relative] really. They have a ground floor flat which is ideal.” Another relative told us, “Before I didn’t know who their key worker was and nor did the staff, but now there’s a new manager and 2 supporting managers and they’ve finally got a key worker and they’re a driver.” Another relative told us, “If any member of staff isn’t sure or they are being a bit tricky then they call in an experienced staff member to guide them.” Relatives also told us they had some concerns about the gardens not being maintained, but the provider told us they had escalated these concerns to the landlord. Relatives told us they are kept up to date with relevant information by email, and the new manager is contactable if they have any concerns.
