Our current view of the service

Requires improvement

Updated 25 February 2026

Date of assessment was 6 May to 14 May 2026. Real Social Care Solutions Ltd is a homecare service providing care and support to people in their own homes. They provide a service to adults of all ages and people who are living with dementia, learning disability, mental health conditions, physical disabilities or sensory impairments. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. This is defined as help with care related to personal hygiene. At the time of our assessment 9 people were supported by Real Social Care Solutions Ltd with a regulated activity. We announced the assessment to ensure there would be someone available at the office to support the assessment.

An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. Therefore, the registered manager agreed to go dormant for their supporting living service. Dormant is if a registered service or location temporarily stops providing regulated activities, it can be designated as dormant with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

During this assessment we identified a breach in regulation relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.

People were not always involved in their care planning and risk management plans. Care plans did not always contain clear, detailed guidance to support staff to manage people’s health conditions or deliver care in line with best practice. Medicines were not always managed safely. Staff had not always completed all required training such as end of life care. The Mental Capacity Act (2005) was not always followed, as capacity assessments were not routinely completed where required. Governance systems were ineffective and did not provide sufficient oversight of the service to identify shortfalls. However, people were treated with kindness, dignity and respect. People were cared for by a staff team who knew them well. Incidents and complaints were logged, reported when appropriate, and lessons learnt to improve people’s care and support. Real Social Care Solutions Ltd supported people on a ‘fast track’ placement from hospital to home so they could come home to pass away in line with their wishes and preferences, and with loved ones.

People's experience of the service

People and family members told us they were not always involved in their care planning or risk assessment. One relative said, “I got a call from the manager to tell me when they would be starting (providing care), but there were not any questions about [relative] care needs. I think the hospital must have sorted all that.” However, People’s and relative feedback overall showed people had experienced positive care from Real Social Care Solutions Ltd. People told us they were safe, one relative told us, “I am confident that my [family member] is safe with the carers looking after them.” People told us staff ensured their care needs were always met. One person told us, “I really can’t fault the carers. They get on with the job and stay the time, sometimes a bit more than the time if something crops up.” People told us Real Social Care Solutions Ltd staff treated them well. One person said, “We have been lucky; the carers are all equally good and are doing a great job to help us.” Relatives told us staff supported them to ensure their loved one could be at home, one relative told us, “I want to keep [family member] here with me (at home) for as long as possible and it certainly wouldn’t be possible without them. I really would recommend them to anyone.”
