Effective – this means we looked for evidence that people’s care, treatment and support achieved good outcomes and promoted a good quality of life, based on best available evidence. At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained good. This meant people’s outcomes were consistently good, and people’s feedback confirmed this.

The provider made sure people’s care and treatment was effective by assessing and reviewing their health, care, wellbeing and communication needs with them. Comprehensive assessments were undertaken by the provider to ensure the persons needs could be met. These assessments were used to develop appropriate risk assessments and care plans. People, partners who worked with the service and family members all described a detailed and planned assessment process which included a bespoke transition to the service which had been designed around people’s specific needs. This gave people, and the staff team the opportunity to develop positive and trusting relationships. A family member told us, “[The provider] has been brilliant, a god send. We have no concerns. They keep us updated. Staff are always great.”

The provider told people about their rights around consent and always respected their rights when delivering care and treatment. Where able, people had signed their care plans to demonstrate their consent. We observed respectful interactions and staff always sought peoples consent before speaking about the person or before delivering care or support.
