We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 27 June 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Ledbury Dental Care on 26 February 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe or well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12, safe care and treatment and 17, good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection we found:
The practice systems to manage risks and infection control procedures were effective.
There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
The practice is in Ledbury and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice was not accessible for patients who used wheelchairs as there was no step-free access to the practice and the treatment room was on the first floor. The provider informed new patients of these restrictions.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our assessment, there was a total of 6 staff, of which there was 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses (including 1 trainee dental nurse), 2 dental therapists, and the practice manager. We spoke with the practice manager during our inspection.
