Goldenview care home provides nursing and personal care to both younger and older adults, some of whom may be living with dementia and or have a physical disability.

Goldenview Care Home provides accommodation for permanent residents whilst also serving as a designated facility within the Discharge to Assess pathway. This means that for people who are clinically fit for discharge from hospital are admitted to Goldenview, where their longer-term care requirements are assessed and appropriate plans are developed prior to a potential transfer to an alternative setting.

The inspection took place on 5 and 12 November 2025 and was undertaken to provide the service with its first rating.

People were supported to feel safe and were protected from the risk of harm by a staff team who had received appropriate training. Medicines were managed safely and in line with best practice. Staffing levels were sufficient to meet people’s needs. Staff were observed to be kind and respectful in their interactions with people.

People had access to healthcare services, and their needs were assessed appropriately before admission, during their stay, and at the point of discharge as needed. This ensured continuity of care and supported effective planning for longer-term needs.

Leaders were knowledgeable and worked collaboratively, enabling staff to provide good quality care. Staff felt supported by management, which contributed to a positive working environment and consistent standards of practice.

People's experience of the service

Updated 22 October 2025

During the on-site inspection, we spoke with 1 person who was able to speak with us and 3 relatives.

Where people could not speak with us, we used The Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a way of observing care to help us understand the experience of people who could not talk with us.

Our observations showed that staff were supporting people in a timely and caring manner, with people responding positively and engaging in conversation with staff. When people displayed distressed or changed behaviours, staff responded in ways that ensuring people were kept safe and ensuring no one was singled out or treated differently.

Relatives were extremely positive about the care their loved ones received. One relative said, “They [staff] are like family here now to [name of relative], and to me too.” Another relative said, All staff are so kind, caring and friendly.”
