Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 6 to 7 May 2025. The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is a specialist orthopaedic centre and is one of the largest providers of elective orthopaedic surgery. It offers three tiers of service: routine orthopaedic operations; specialist services, such as spinal surgery; and diagnosis and treatment of malignant bone conditions. The trust specialises in planned treatments of large and small joint replacement, spinal services, orthopaedic oncology and bone infections. This assessment looked at the children and young person services as it had not been inspected since 2014, which we rated as good. The rating from children and young person services has been combined with ratings of the other services from the last inspections. See our previous reports to get a full picture of all other services at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. The rating of The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital remains good.
