Our view of the service

King’s Mill Hospital, located in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, is the largest hospital within Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is a modern acute hospital providing a wide range of services, including emergency care, maternity services, inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, therapy services, and specialist treatments. 

The hospital serves communities across north Nottinghamshire and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire and is a key regional healthcare provider. It has approximately 600 beds and operates an emergency department alongside dedicated women’s and children’s services. 

Our most recent inspection of this location was end of life care services on the 27 and 28 May 2026. At this inspection the overall location rating has remained good.
