During an inspection in response to concerns

People were confused by the lack of signage and information when attending the Urgent Care Centre. People experienced delays in receiving treatment and there was little evidence of communication with other providers when people are referred to the Urgent Care Centre. However, people made positive comments about the staff and care provided once they had been seen.

There was lack of clarity regarding management arrangements expressed by staff, as well as insufficient numbers of staff and lack of training opportunities. We observed the team work and efforts made by the Urgent Care Centre staff together with the Accident and Emergency Department staff from Queen's Hospital to reduce adverse impact on people.
