Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 3

During the last inspection concerns were identified about the relevance of next of kin information in care records, and this meant the potential of a breach of data protection. The provider had taken steps to ensure all care records had been updated and a system to review and maintain the information was in place.

The provider had failed to submit statutory notifications in line with Regulation 18: Notification of Other Incidents of the Care Quality Commission (registration) Regulations 2009. Since the last inspection the provider had reviewed and identified where notifications had been missed and made retrospective submissions to CQC. The provider told us they had reviewed how they were identifying notifiable incidents and there was increased understanding of what was notifiable and of notifications being sent to CQC.

The provider was no longer in breach of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 17 - good governance.
