Our view of the service
We carried out this announced off-site inspection on 21 August 2026.
Where we carry out an off-site inspection, we undertake a detailed review of the practice risk assessments, policies, staff records and other relevant documents. We gather feedback from patients, staff and stakeholders (where relevant). We carry out a remote visual inspection of the premises and have discussions with staff.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Tooth Booth Swanley is part of Mydentist, a dental group provider. The practice is in Swanley, Kent and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice. Car parking spaces were available in the local area, and the practice was located close to transport links.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 9 staff. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 1 receptionist and the new practice manager who was being supported by an experienced buddy manager. Two of the group’s Regional Regulatory Officers were also at the inspection, supporting the team.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us.
The practice made our questionnaires available to patients, and we received 3 responses. Overall, patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
The practice also collected patient feedback through its own feedback processes, the NHS Friends and Family Test and online reviews. Responses from June and July 2026 showed 86% of patients were either likely or extremely likely to recommend the practice to friends and family.
Patients commented positively on the professionalism and friendliness of staff. Comments included, “Very professional and very friendly practice,” and “Great service and very friendly staff.” One patient described reception staff as “absolutely lovely, kind and very helpful” and said they appreciated how “welcoming, respectful and professional” they were.
Patients highlighted the care and support they received. Comments included, “On time, sympathetic, quick and pain free, I trust them implicitly,” and “Patient with my 1-year-old and so kind with her.”
Patients also commented positively on communication and involvement in their care. Feedback included, “Dentist listened to me,” and “Friendly, thoughtful, caring. Took time to explain and advise despite short time frame.” Another patient described the practice as “Welcoming, informative, not pushy with offering treatments, we felt looked after, had time to answer any concerns and questions.”
Patients commented positively on the practice environment. One patient said, “The receptionist and dentists are all very pleasant and the premises are clean and tidy.”
A small number of comments identified areas for improvement, including appointment waiting times, access to urgent care and the cost of some treatments. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
