Workforce wellbeing and enablement

Score: 3

The service cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff and supported and enabled them to deliver person-centred care.

All staff members we spoke with told us they felt valued, respected, and supported within their roles. A staff member told us, “We have monthly meetings, the operation manager attends and will tell everyone how they are doing and thank them which is nice. I feel valued. Managers are always contactable. We have a service manager, and access to a manager on call 24 hours a day if needed in an emergency.”

Staff had access to regular supervision and support from leaders, promoting staff empowerment and involvement in the service.

Team meetings were held to discuss issues relevant to the service or staff experience. A staff survey had also been issued prior to our inspection, to encourage feedback. We reviewed action plans following the survey and noted not all staff concerns had been addressed which meant action plans did not always drive improvement. Further work was required to ensure action plans were robust.
