Our view of the service

Date of assessment 6 May 2026 to 22 May 2026.

We assessed the service due to the length of time since the last inspection. The service provides personal care and accommodation to people with learning disabilities.

At the time of the assessment, there were 6 people receiving a regulated activity.

The service provided support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, Right care, Right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

The service supported people in line with ‘Right support, Right care, Right culture’. People were at the centre of their care and support and were supported to live an everyday life. People were supported to take part in activities they enjoyed which were tailored to people’s preferences. People were supported to be independent and were offered choices. People were supported to access healthcare services and community provisions.

Staff spoke positively about working for the service. They worked well together as a team and described the service as one big “family”. Staff supported people in a kind and caring way.

Although the service had a registered manager, the service was primarily being overseen by the service manager. The service was well led. There were a range of governance systems in place to ensure the service was compliant. The manager was knowledgeable about people’s needs and had a good relationship with the people who lived at the service, staff, relatives and professionals.

We identified some issues with medicines management and mental capacity assessments, which we raised with the manager, who confirmed they would review and address them.

People's experience of this service

People spoke positively about their home. People told us they loved their room and liked all the staff supporting them. People showed us some pictures of activities they had taken part in and appeared happy and relaxed in the presence of staff. People said they felt safe and raised no concerns. One person commented, “I like all the staff, I like going to the shops. I get on with everyone”. Another person told us, “I love the food here” and “I love going out”.

We completed some observations of care as not all people could speak with us. We observed staff supporting people in a kind, supportive and enabling way. Staff respected people’s rights and preferences and treated people as individuals.
