Kindness, compassion and dignity
Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. “[The principal dentist’s] attention to detail and professionalism as my dentist have been unparalleled. What has impressed me most is how genuinely committed he is to achieving the best possible result, no request ever feels too small or like too much trouble.”
Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. “Very good and considerate service from both the dentists and the staff.”
Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. “Prior to seeing [the team at Dentistry 100], I had some poor experiences with dentists which left me reluctant to attend appointments. The trust, confidence and positive experience the team have created have completely changed that. I now proactively book appointments and take a much more active role in managing my dental health.”
People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. One staff member told us, “The practice is a great place to work…. the culture is great and the patients are well looked after by the team, so it’s a professional and happy place to work. Staff turnover is low as the team are happy. The culture of the practice is open, friendly, encouraging great patient care and satisfied team members.”
