Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. Improvements should be made to clinician awareness of guidance issued by the British Society of Periodontology.
They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

People's experience of this service
As part of our inspection we reviewed patient feedback from a number of sources. This included feedback posted on-line and patient feedback in the form of compliments and complaints.
Patients provided positive feedback about the care they received at the practice. Common themes included staff being described as friendly, compassionate, and efficient, and the practice environment being comfortable with a reassuring atmosphere, particularly for nervous patients. Patients reported that they would highly recommend the practice and commented that clinicians were caring, explained each stage of treatment clearly, and demonstrated professionalism throughout the treatment process.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients commented that they felt confident that advice they were given helped them to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
