Well-led
We looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture. The practice had a clear vision and strategy to deliver high quality care and promoted good outcomes for people. Staff were clear on their individual responsibilities and knew who was accountable for each aspect of the service.
Leaders had oversight to ensure the effective running of the service and were capable, compassionate, and inclusive. The practice encouraged duty of candour, openness, and honesty. Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable, and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles.
At our last inspection, we rated this key question as Good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.

Governance, management and sustainability
The service had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. They used these to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment and support. They act on the best information about risk, performance and outcomes, and share this securely with others when appropriate. The provider had a central management team for the whole group of practices it operated, which included The Willows, Thornton and Denholme Practices This provided management support for key core services including human resources. Staff told us they had clear responsibilities and were aware of the management structure.
The provider had recently transitioned across to a new human resources software system and were able to demonstrate how this ensured the required staff information was kept all in one place and easily accessible.
Regular meetings were held to discuss any clinical concerns, emerging risk or other practice issues. Any actions that needed to be shared were discussed with staff.
Managers met with staff regularly to complete appraisals and performance reviews.
The provider had established governance processes that were appropriate for their service. Staff could access all required policies and procedures on shared hard drive.
Staff took patient confidentiality and information security seriously. The provider had ensured staff had completed information governance training, and the services Data Protection toolkit was up to date.
