Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 28 March 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place.
The practice had systems to manage risks which required some improvements.
The practice known as Dulwich Smile Suite is in the London Borough of Lambeth and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms.At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 12 staff, of which there were the principal orthodontist, 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 2 treatment co-ordinators, 1 human resources administrator and 2 practice managers. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal orthodontist, 2 dental nurses, 2 treatment co-ordinators and the 2 practice managers.
People's experience of this service
Online patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included: “The whole process was smooth and stress-free. Everyone was attentive and knowledgeable”; “The place is immaculate”; “Very supportive along the journey always explaining and checking I was comfortable with what was being done”.
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
They told us they were able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and that they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients said they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
