Our view of the service
Date of assessment 1 June 2026. This assessment was announced. The service is a care at home service which currently provides a supported living service. This includes services to adults with learning disabilities. At the time of our visit the service supported 15 people.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the provider was working in accordance with this guidance.
The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to good governance. We checked to see if improvements had been made following our previous assessment. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation.
The provider had comprehensive care records for people they supported. These care records were person centred and contained details of people’s needs and preferences. This included details of how to support people with their health care needs and at times of distress. People told us they were supported well. Staff were caring and kind and supported people in their preferred way.
The service had recently gone through structure changes, with several new managers joining the team and an office manager recently appointed. The registered managed told us the provider was looking at how induction was delivered.
Personal information was now shared securely. Consent had been sought for the sharing of people’s information and the provider was due to go live with a new software platform that ensured confidentiality of personal files. Systems were in place to ensure auditing and internal monitoring were effective in identifying any shortfalls in records and practice, with prompt action taken to address these and support sustained service improvement.
