Our view of the service

St Anne’s Court is registered to provide care and support for up to 26 people. The service provides residential care and support for older adults. At the time of this inspection, there were 23 people living at the service. This was a planned inspection of quality statements under the 5 key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. The inspection took place between the 1 August and 4 August 2025.

Risks to people had not always been identified and assessed. Equipment used to support people’s movement was not maintained in accordance with legislation. Medicines were not always managed in line with the provider’s policy. Recruitment processes were not carried out consistently. Documentation relating to care and support was not always accurate and contained conflicting information. Assessments were not carried out in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), this meant people’s rights were not always protected. Governance systems and oversight were either not in place or not operating effectively as they had not identified the shortfalls we found within this inspection.

We identified 2 breaches of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
