Our view of the service

We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 11 July 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had systems in place to manage risk but improvements should be made to ensure effectiveness and adherence to guidance.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The Dental Care Centre Little Lever is part of Rodericks Dental Partners, a dental group provider. The practice is in Bolton and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and on-street car parking spaces were available near the practice.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 14 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 5 dental nurses (including 2 trainees), 2 dental therapists, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and 1 receptionist. A caretaker practice manager and 1 of the group’s compliance managers was also at the inspection supporting the team.

People's experience of this service

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any direct patient feedback.
On the day of our inspection, we saw patient feedback, collected by the practice, from a number of additional patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included; “All good, no problems”, “Friendly and informative”, “As always the hygienist and dentist were friendly and put me at ease. The appointments were on time. A simple and easy experience”, “The dentist was polite and informative”.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
