Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 6 August 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice is in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 9 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 nurse also worked on reception, 2 dental therapists, 1 clinical care co-ordinator and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 24 patients. There were no patients at the practice on the day of our inspection. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. We were told, “ Premises always very clean. Receptionists very welcoming. Always get in to see either the dentist or the hygienist on time. Patient toilets and waiting area always very clean” and “The environment was as immaculately clean as one would expect.”
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. We were told, “(dentist) is the best dentist I have ever seen (I've seen a few). He is always calm and caring; he listens intently to everything I say. He explains everything he is going to do and continues explaining everything even during treatment.”
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. One patient told us, “Clear information and explanation of procedure being undertaken andwhat I should expect to experience. Very gentle treatment, with constant checks on my comfort. Clear explanation of next stage of procedure for the future.”
Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. We were told, “ Recommendations and guidance for improving oral health are given sympathetically and clearly. The team at Space have taken the fear out of visiting the dentist” and “I use this excellent dental surgery regularly. I have always found their services to be of the very highest possible standard. The team are hugely professional and have maintained my dental health with great care and compassion. The quality of their clinical services, from reception to treatment rooms, is second to none. My Dental Therapist is worthy of a special mention. Her detailed assessment of my mouth and incredibly reassuring treatment plan has been a game changer in my dental health journey. Using state of the art instruments and products she has reversed many of the complex issues I had with my teeth. Her relentless pursuit of clinical excellence goes above and beyond what I have come to expect and her expertise has almost certainly saved me from further serious problems. I would highly recommend this particular surgery and see it as a model for the future of modern dentistry.”
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
