Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 4 August 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had some systems to identify and manage risks, including fire, legionella and infection prevention and control.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Issues identified regarding recruitment procedures to ensure they reflected current legislation were acted upon immediately. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice is in Cheylesmore, Coventry and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people in the practice car park.
The practice had 8 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 29 staff, of which there were 10 dentists, 10 dental nurses, including 3 trainee dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, 2 orthodontic therapists, 2 dental hygienists, 2 receptionists, 1 administrator and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 3 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 2 of which were also working on the reception and the practice manager.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
People's experience of this service

On the day of our inspection, we received patient feedback from a further 13 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included, “The staff on reception were welcoming and friendly. I was seen for my dental appointment quickly. The nurse was very kind, knowledgeable and friendly. She made me feel very comfortable which was reassuring considering this was my first time in the practice. The dentist was very thorough with my teeth and gave them a good clean. He was also very knowledgeable and has given me good advice on how to maintain my teeth. The practice was very good and I’ll be going back.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.
Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
