Our view of the service
We carried out this assessment due to the length of time since the last inspection and conducted a comprehensive assessment of surgical services. During our assessment we found people received safe, effective and person-centred care from staff who worked well together and treated people with kindness, dignity and respect. Staff involved people in decisions about their care and supported positive outcomes. Governance systems were effective in monitoring quality, managing risks and driving improvement. The service was particularly strong in its partnership working and community engagement. Leaders and staff worked proactively with external organisations and healthcare partners to improve access to care, reduce barriers and support joined-up services. This collaborative approach had improved people’s experiences and outcomes and demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the local community.
People's experience of this service
All patients we spoke with during the assessment provided positive feedback and said they were happy with the service they received. Data from the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) showed that 100% of 306 patients rated their overall experience as good or very good, and 94% said the hospital met their individual needs. In addition, monthly patient surveys consistently show satisfaction levels above 98%.
Overall, this feedback demonstrates that patients consistently experience high-quality, responsive care and feel their needs are being met by the service.
