About the service

This is a homecare service providing short-term domiciliary care and reablement support to help people regain independence, recover following illness or hospital admission, and remain living safely in their own homes. At the time of this assessment 56 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care.

Who the service is for

This service supports people with various needs who are living in their own homes. Staff supported people with personal care, including medicines, meal preparation and mobility.

Key findings
We carried out this assessment between 13 August and 7 September 2026. This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.
The provider assessed people’s needs and abilities and used the information to develop personalised care plans. These were adapted to reflect people’s changing needs and progression. Staff encouraged people to participate in their care wherever possible, including personal care, meal preparation, medication management and daily living activities. This helped promote positive outcomes and improve wellbeing.
The provider had a positive approach to investigating and learning from incidents. Regular audits were effective in identifying and addressing shortfalls quickly.
Staff were passionate about the care they provided and were committed to supporting people to remain independent. A staff member told us, “The deep personal satisfaction of helping people regain their independence at home is very rewarding.” Staff described a caring culture and demonstrated a clear understanding of the service's reablement focus.
Professionals spoke highly of the service and described staff as reliable, knowledgeable, responsive and committed to achieving positive outcomes. Professionals described the service's ability to support timely hospital discharges and effective joint working with health and social care partners.
 

People's experience of this service

People and relatives gave consistently positive feedback about the care and support the service provided. People said they felt safe with the care staff and did not raise any concerns about their care. One person said, “My life is so much better since my carers came. I couldn’t do without them.” Another person told us, “I am absolutely delighted with the care; I can’t speak highly enough about it.”
People received support from consistent care staff. They said staff arrived on time and stayed for the planned time of the call. People and relatives described staff as kind, caring and respectful. One relative said staff provided, “Wonderful sensitive, kind and compassionate support.”
People were supported to maintain or regain their independence. A person with mobility needs said staff stayed with them to support and reassure them when they walked with their mobility aid. A relative said staff encouraged their family member “to be as independent as she is able.”
Relatives said they felt involved in decisions and care reviews. They also said the service communicated with them when their family member’s needs changed. A relative described how their family member’s care plan had been updated following a decline in their health.
