Braemar House is a 'care home' that provides care and support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. The service can support up to 12 people and is in a residential area of the seaside town of Paignton. On the day of our assessment there were 12 people living at the service. This assessment activity began on the 13 February 2024 and ended on 22 February 2024. We looked at 1 key question; Well led, and 1 quality statement; Governance, management and sustainability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At this assessment we looked at some aspects of how the service met these principles. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. At our last inspection this service was rated good. Following this assessment the service remains rated good.
