Our view of the service
We carried out an announced inspection on Waverley PMS on 10 and 11 March 2025. This was a responsive inspection to follow up on breaches of regulation found at a previous inspection in July 2024. Waverley PMS is an NHS GP practice located in South East London. At the time of our inspection there were approximately 4447 patients registered with the service.
The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make-up of the practice area is 51.96% White, 20.96% Black, 17.3% Asian, 5.11% Mixed and 4.68% Other.
Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 5th decile (5 out of 10). The lower the decile the more deprived the practice population is relative to others.
This inspection considered the demographics of people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.
We found breaches of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
People's experience of this service
The National GP Patient Survey published in July 2024 showed that patients were satisfied with the care received. Patients reported feeling involved in their care and treatment. Patient satisfaction with being able to contact this practice was in line with national averages. There was an active Patient Participation Group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service. We saw evidence that the practice collected their own feedback from patients and acted based on these responses. While patients expressed satisfaction with their care, we found patients did not always receive the necessary monitoring tests for their conditions or prescribed medicines.
