Governance, management and sustainability
The service had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. However, there were some areas where the provider had failed to identify or assess the risk to staff and patients. These included learning from complaints and significant events, supervision of clinical staff, emergency medicines and equipment, staff training, and staff immunisation.
We noted improvements in governance seen from our last inspection in March 2025. These included; the management of patients with long-term conditions; monitoring of patients prescribed medicines requiring monitoring; management of MHRA and safety alerts; medicines reviews; infection prevention and control risk assessments and audits; and the use of clinical audits to demonstrate quality improvement.
