Governance, management and sustainability

At the inspection on 22 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

Systems for checking emergency equipment and medicines had been updated to ensure staff could identify if items of medical emergency kit were missing or out of date.

Individual risk assessments for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) had been completed and the manufacturers safety data sheets were in place and accessible for staff.

The electrical installation condition report (fixed wiring) had been completed.

The three yearly servicing of X-ray equipment had been carried out.

The management of fire safety was effective. Fire alarms and emergency lighting had been serviced.

Improvements had been made to the tracking system to reduce the risk of prescription theft or misuse.

The practice had effective protocols to ensure effective cleaning and safe segregation and disposal of hazardous waste. The practice was in receipt of waste consignment notes.

We found clinical waste was stored in a locked container and orange waste bags were labelled appropriately.
