Our view of the service

North Street Medical Care is a GP practice situated at 274 North Street, Romford, RM1 4QJ. The service has a branch surgery at Chadwell Heath Health Centre in Ashton Gardens, Romford, RM6 6RT. It delivers service and provides NHS primary medical care services to approximately 21,500 patients across both sites. The practice is registered with the CQC to provide the regulated activities of diagnostic and screening procedures; family planning; and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 6th decile (6 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

We inspected and rated this service under our previous methodology on 28 January 2019. The overall rating for the service was good with the key questions for all domains rated as good overall. We carried out a focused inspection reviewing the responsive domain on 7 December 2021 but did not provide a rating. We carried out a focused assessment of the key question responsive on 23 November 2023 and rated the key question of providing a responsive service as requires improvement as we found the GP Patient Survey for some of the key questions were below the national average.

We carried out a remote focused assessment on 26 March 2026 and looked at the responsive key question. As a result of this assessment, we rated the service as good for responsive because we found they had made the necessary improvements and had improved its satisfaction levels in the 2025 GP Patient Survey.
