Caring
We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.
This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity.
The service had arrangements in place to ensure information about people was treated confidentially, and that their privacy and dignity was respected. This included access to a chaperone if required. Training in privacy and dignity had been implemented by the practice during the assessment.
The service generally performed better than the national average in the results of the 2026 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people felt listened to and felt they were treated with kindness. For example, 93% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at listening to them, compared to a local and national average of 87%. In addition, 95% of respondents to the survey felt they had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to during their last general practice appointment, compared to a local average of 92% and a national average of 93%.
As part of the assessment process, we asked the service to invite patients to share their experience of the service via the Give Feedback on Care form on the Care Quality Commission website. We received 40 responses, 34 of which were positive about the service received from the practice. This included several comments about friendly and helpful staff.
