Our view of the service

The assessment was conducted remotely from 1 May to 16 May 2026. Help at Home Care is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes. At the time of assessment, the service was supporting 21 people. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects services where personal care is provided this includes assistance with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where applicable, any wider social care provided is also considered.

At the time of our assessment, the service was supporting people who lived with dementia and people with physical disabilities.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to ‘Right support, right care, right culture’.

The provider demonstrated a strong, proactive approach to delivering safe and effective care, underpinned by robust systems, continuous learning, and a culture of openness and accountability. Clear processes were in place to manage incidents, complaints, safeguarding, and risk, with learning embedded into practice and shared across the staff team. Care was well planned and regularly reviewed, ensuring it remained responsive to people’s changing needs. There was effective partnership working which supported continuity and coordinated care.

Staffing arrangements were safe and well managed, with appropriate recruitment, training, supervision, and oversight systems in place.

Care was consistently person-centred, with people actively involved in decisions about their care and supported to maintain independence, choice, and control. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of individual needs and delivered tailored care that respected people’s preferences, backgrounds, and rights. The provider promoted inclusion and accessibility, ensuring information and care approaches met diverse needs, while supporting people to engage in their communities and maintain relationships.

Leadership was effective and inclusive, fostering a positive culture where staff felt supported, valued, and able to raise concerns. There was a clear commitment to equality, diversity, continuous improvement, and future planning, ensuring care remained high quality and responsive.
